A MISSING dog that vanished during an afternoon walk has been found safe and well.
Tan Cairn terrier Westie cross Archie ran off during his regular weekend walk in the Stratton area of Rainer Close.

The 19-month-old dog was spotted near the Honda roundabout and again yesterday morning at the Supermarine roundabout towards Highworth but thanks to a Good Samaritan he was finally captured near Acorn Bridge.

An appeal to find him received hundeds of shares on social media.

His owners Amy Dodson and Richard Williams, who live in Devizes said they were 'overjoyed' to have him back home,

Amy said: “We had a call at 11pm to say he had been spotted in a field by someone who had seen his photo online. We ended up taking his dad Fred to the area to try and sniff him out

"There were tears of joy when we saw him. He kept whimpering but when we grabbed him he just put his head on my shoulder.

Archie is now receiving TLC at home.
