BUSINESS advisors from a group of chartered accountants have shown off their golfing talents completing a challenge to mark 60 years of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

In all, 15 employees from the RSM Swindon office joined Basset Down Golf Course near Wroughton to celebrate its anniversary.

The charity’s Diamond Challenge is aimed at encouraging people to embrace a new skill or challenge throughout 2016. As a proud Headline Diamond Partner, RSM has a long-term relationship with the charity.

After being split into several teams, employees consisting of golfers and non-golfers alike took to the golf course’s 20-bay driving range to learn the basics of the game, with help from one of Basset Down’s PGA Professionals, Greg Davies.

The challenge then moved out onto the nine-hole golf course, where players worked closely in their teams in a Texas Scramble format.

Sharon Omer-Kaye, managing partner of RSM Swindon, said: “Only a few shots separated the teams and all scores were competitive – well done and thank you to all. Our company has a longstanding relationship with the DoE and I’m proud that we continue to support such a worthy cause.”

“Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, and thank you to Basset Down Golf Course for hosting us for the day”.

The RSM Swindon team has already raised £1,400 and is on track to achieve the £1,500 target.
