THIS crash was caught on a CCTV camera operated by Visual Security Management in the early hours of Sunday.
The car is captured dramatically smashing into a sign post at the bottom of Rodbourne Road.
Police today confirmed that an attempt was made to stop a Peugeot 406 'seen acting suspiciously' in the Cheney Manor area of Swindon in the early hours of Sunday.
A spokesman said: "Police attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle made off and collided with a street sign approximately 400 metres away."
It is not yet known how badly hurt the occupants were, or whether the driver will face charges, but police said no arrests have been made.
