WHEN police carried out a misuse of drugs warrant at an address in White Beam Court one of the residents led them directly to what they were looking for.
On Wednesday afternoon Nickie Vernon, 43, formerly of White Beam Court, but now living at Booth House, pleaded guilty to being in possession of cannabis when police stormed the property on May 25.
The court heard from crown prosecutor Keith Ballinger that Vernon himself had taken officers to an upstairs bedroom where they found 2 grams of the class B drugs.
He was arrested and admitted it was for personal use.
His defence, Esther Bisgrove said: "Nobody can fault this man's cooperation with the police. When they executed the warrant the defendant jumped to his feet and showed the police what they were looking for."
The magistrates fined him £80, reduced from £110 in light of his guilty plea and ordered he also pay £40 Crown Prosecution Service costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
These amounts will be consolidated with the £5 he has outstanding in court fines.
