A 28-year-old man found with a large quantity of cannabis and £4,500 cash has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
Officers were on patrol in the Thames Avenue area of Swindon at about 12.40am today when they spotted a suspicious white BMW.
There was a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle and as a result, the driver was detained so the car could be searched.
A large quantity of cannabis was found as well as about £4,500 cash.
A short while later, police dog Baxter was brought to the scene by his handler and began a further search of the car.
Drug paraphernalia and a quantity of herbal cannabis was discovered and seized, along with several mobile phones.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and was taken to Gablecross Police Station where he remains this morning.
