FACING charges of driving above the drink drive limit, failing to stop after an accident and using threatening behaviour a man has had his case adjourned.

Gary Peapell, 37, of Commercial Road, was due before magistrates sitting in Swindon on Wednesday morning to answer the charges dating from Monday, June 13.

He is charged with driving a 54-plate Vauxhall Vectra on Victoria Road while having 54mg of alcohol in 100ml of his breath - the legal limit being 35mg - failing to stop after an accident on Victoria Road where another vehicle was damaged and using threatening or abusive language.

But the court heard that Peapell was unwell and had not attended court. The matter was adjourned until September 7 for Peapell to attend. In the meantime he remains on conditional bail not to go to Victoria Road, except for prearranged solicitor's appointments.
