A TEENAGER who assaulted his girlfriend while on a suspended sentence for his role in drug dealing has been jailed for a year.
Jake Curtis' partner had to go to accident and emergency when he stamped on her a week after being involved in another violence argument.
Hannah Squire, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court how the first incident took place on Sunday July 17.
She said his mum received a phone call from his girlfriend saying she and Curtis had been rowing and he had pushed her.
Being aware of his violent background, Miss Squire said his mum called the police and went to the house to try and calm the situation.
Curtis was then very aggressive to his mother when she arrived.
He was standing with his fists clenched and his girlfriend stepped in between Curtis and his mum, believing if she didn't he would have attacked her.
The police turned up and with the two women went to Curtis's mother's house, where he turned up soon afterwards, banging on the door, shouting and screaming.
He was arrested and charged by the police before being released on bail, but a week later as they again argued he jumped on her, put his hand over her mouth, pinned her to the floor and told her it was her fault he was getting angry.
He then stamped on her foot so hard that she had to go to hospital where she was prescribed painkillers.
Curtis, of Lechlade Road, Highworth, admitted common assault, using violence to gain entry and two counts of threatening behaviour.
The court heard that in January he was put on a suspended sentence at Bristol Crown Court for being concerned in the supply of hard drugs.
He was also put on a community order by magistrates in April for driving and drugs offences committed before he was sentenced in Bristol.
Mike Pulsford, defending, said: "He was, and still is, on a community order and the pre-sentence report refers to that.
"Although he was made subject to a suspended sentence order in January, in April he was put on a community order. He completed 120 hours of unpaid work.
"He is on rehabilitation activity requirement and also subject to a drug rehabilitation requirement.
"His offender manager says he had complied with the current orders and requirements.
"Basically what has happened is he is a young man in a relationship with a young lady and he has behaved in a very hot headed way on a number of occasions."
Jailing him Judge Tim Mousley QC said: "You are someone with a temper that is easily lost and I dare say you have heard that description many times before.
"On this occasion your aggressive behaviour was demonstrated by clenched fists. Your aggression was then demonstrated to anyone who got in your way.
"Then you were hammering on the door shouting and screaming frightening several people as you did.
"Within a week you were committing common assault. It was typically aggressive and it was violent, stamping on her at one point."
