OVER the past three weeks, Commonweal students have been learning about the dangers and consequences of inappropriate use of technolgy and social media.

During the hard-hitting set of e-safety talks the focus has been on the law surrounding the creation, sharing and distribution of inappropriate images, also known as ‘sexting’.

Students have been exploring and discussing the dangers, the possible legal consequences and risks involved in sexting. Led by a group of PCSOs with special training and responsibilities relating to discussing such issues, students at Commonweal are now fully informed on the issue.

"Equipped with the knowledge of the law regarding sexting, an understanding of how much it can negatively affect their future, and where to get help if needed, we hope our students will make good decisions, and avoid the dangers of an issue that is currently on the rise in young people around the country," said Matt Parry, teacher of Social Science
