FROM 1965 to 1968 you would have been hard-pressed to find a bigger radio programme in Britain than Round the Horne. For half an hour every Sunday afternoon, audiences of up to 15 million would gather around the wireless to listen to Kenneth Horne and his merry crew get up to all sorts of mischief.
With infamous movie spoofs and hilarious regular characters such as Rambling Sid Rumpo, J. Peasemold Gruntfuttock, and Julian and Sandy, Round the Horne’s madcap humour still hits the spot 50 years on. Get your fill of Horne’s antics in this new live show.
Round the Horne: 50th Anniversary Tour is at the Wyvern on Monday and Tuesday. Tickets are £21. To book go to swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524481.
