THRILL-SEEKING teenagers are continuing to put their lives at serious risk after a new video has emerged showing them taking to new heights in scaling some of Swindon’s highest buildings.

The latest post on YouTube shows the youngsters climbing onto several town centre rooftops including Whalebridge car park in Islington St and Kimmeridge Court in Princes St.

As Swindon Borough Council own the properties, the local authority has said it is now investigating how the teenagers accessed the roof of the buildings and will be looking to stop it happening again.

A spokesman added: “The council thanks the Swindon Advertiser for bringing this footage to our attention and we will be liaising with Wiltshire Police, who have already issued a warning on this matter, as well as alerting our own security staff to be extra vigilant for such activities.

“Our message to the teenagers doing this is to think of their family and true friends, who would be shocked and upset that they have chosen to put themselves in such danger.

"Trespassing is also a criminal offence, which can carry serious consequences.”

The video is the second instalment from the teenagers who have previously filmed their rooftop climbing endeavours earlier this month.

The exact date of filming for both is not yet known but both videos have been handed to Wiltshire Police.

The force said following the release of the latest video, they want to reiterate a danger warning to the teenagers about how what they are doing could prove fatal particularly at how close they are to the edge.

Inspector Steve McGrath, from the town centre policing hub, said: “The individuals in this video are taking high risks.

“What they are doing is extremely dangerous, especially in a non-controlled area like this and without supervision.

“While we are not trying to ruin anybody’s fun I would urge the individuals in the video and anybody else considering doing something like this to think very carefully about the dangers they are putting themselves and other members of the community in.”

Wiltshire Police are urging people to report any suspicious or dangerous behaviour in Swindon by calling 101.
