A 33-YEAR-OLD father critically injured in a house fire in Manchester Road has died.

Blaise Alvares, had been in a critical condition in hospital since the November 6 fire, died on December 23. His wife Sharon Alvares died in November. Their 17-month-old daughter Brooke is recovering well in hospital.

In a statement, the Alvares family paid tribute to the couple.

"Our loving son and brother Blaise Sanito Alavares passed away on the 23 December 2016 at The Morriston Hospital, Swansea following the fire at Manchester Road, Swindon on the 6 November 2016.

"We would like to say thank you to all those who cared for Blaise, also those who have prayed and helped us through this difficult time.

"We would like you now to pray to the Good Lord for both Blaise and Sharon, and that they may rest in peace.

"Please pray for their daughter who remains in hospital at this time."
