FROM Saturday the Stratton St Margaret Parish Council will take on all responsibility for grass cutting in the parish.
This is following an agreement that this responsibility is transferred from Swindon Borough Council as part of their devolution of StreetSmart service to parish councils across the borough.
However, the parish council’s Open Spaces Management Team is already out and about cutting the grass.
The parish council describes itself as being a proactive parish council which is very proud of its open spaces and it councillors have promised to enhance the grass cutting programme being devolved from the borough and bring it in line with their own standards.
From April 1, the parish council will offer a dedicated telephone number and email address to prepare for the additional service enquiries.
To raise a query about the grass cutting or any other open space concern ring Stratton Open Spaces Management on 01793 833434, email SOSquery@strattonstmargaret.gov.uk or go online www.strattonstmargaret.gov.uk
In the meantime if you have any comments, contact Tracy Predeth, clerk to the council on 01793 823761.
