TWO teams of celebrities faced off against each other at the County Ground on Friday evening.

The friendly kick-about was being held for the second year in Swindon as part of the Make Some Noise initiative, which raises money for charities and community groups.

Some of the stars taking part included British-American model and reality TV participant Calum Best, EastEnder’s actors Dean Gaffney and Jake Wood as well as X-Factor star Stevi Ritchie, former TOWIE star Dan Osborne, current TOWIE star James Argent and former Tottenham Hotspur player and Celebrity Big Brother contestant Jamie O’ Hara.

Calum Best said: “I’m so excited to come back.” He and the other celebrities mingled with the crowd at half-time, posing for pictures.

The game, sponsored by Swindon Wildcats and Tree Nightclub was hosted by Heart Breakfast presenters Ben and Mel.

Ben said: “We had so much fun last year and we are so pleased to bring it back.

And Mel added: “Make Some Noise is truly amazing – our listeners have made a huge difference to the lives of young children.”

Make Some Noise gives a voice to more small charities and projects across Wiltshire and the UK that struggle to raise awareness.

Earlier this year it awarded £41,300 to the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group to help them provide speech therapy.

The local charity for this year’s match is yet to be decided.

Jamie O’ Hara’s ill-advised tweet on Friday criticising Swindon was quickly removed after a backlash from Swindonians who showed their annoyance.
