A 42-year-old woman has been released on bail after being charged with causing actual bodily harm and assaulting a police officer in Whitehead Street.
Louise Smith, of Pathfinder Way, was arrested after a domestic incident at a house in the street on Friday morning where a man in his 40s sustained a wound to his hand.
Whitehead Street was cordoned off by police for a few hours as a precaution while Smith was taken into police custody at Gablecross police station.
A man was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment.
Smith appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Saturday and is now on bail until her trial at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, June 30.
