The window of a Thamesdown bus was broken last night while being driven on Maitland Road.

A spokesman from the company said the number two bus, which was travelling between Fleming Way and Covingham, was damaged at around 9pm last night.

Thamesdown said none of the bus passengers were injured and the smashed window has been reported to police.

Alex Chutter, Thamesdown's general manager, said: “The safety of our passengers and drivers is hugely important to us and we are conducting an internal investigation - including a request for CCTV footage - to determine the cause.

"Our customers will be pleased to know that the service was quickly re-established and is now running normally.”
