PARTY people can enjoy a feast for the eyes and the ears at Africa Festival on Saturday.

The event, which is now in its third year, will see dancers, musicians and food producers from cultures all over the world descend on Swindon’s County Ground.

Joy Grotzinger, one of the organisers of the day, said: “This year is going to be something special.

“We know a lot of people are going to be coming.”

Performing on the day are the London-based Igba Masquerade Dancers, GGU Little Sunshine Dancers and the Moo and Jemmy Dancers.

Food from various nationalities will be served, including a barbecue and Indian food by Tapachi.

The family event, which will help raise funds for Cancer Research UK, will also see face painting stalls, and henna and hair braiding by Makeup Mama Nadia Stawarz.

“We’ve got everything from African drummers and Iranian dancers,” said Joy.

“We couldn’t put everything on the flyer because there wasn’t enough space.

“I’m somebody who promotes culture, who likes everybody to have fun and be happy. It’s just going to be a fun day for everyone.”

Africa Festival will be at the County Ground on Saturday from noon to 9pm.
