MORE than £100 was snatched from the till of a town centre shop in broad daylight.

Between 11.20am and 1.45pm on Friday, July 28, a man walked in to Go Vape in Havelock Street and told the shop assistant he was looking for his grandmother's bag, believed to have been left there by mistake.

While the member of staff searched for the bag, the offender took more than £100 from the till.

PCSO Charlie Milne said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may recognise this person, or who heard or saw anything suspicious in this area, to contact us.

"I'd also like to ask staff to be wary if anyone comes into your shop reporting a lost or misplaced bag or item, especially if you have to leave your store unattended for a short time to look for the item."
