A FLEEING driver led police officers on a dangerous chase through the streets of Swindon on Wednesday.
Officers signalled for the driver to stop his car as he made his way along Whitbourne Avenue just after 5pm.
He refused and made off from the scene, followed by pursuing police vehicles.
The chase eventually ended in Wimpole Close where the driver ran away from the vehicle.
He was caught by officers a short time later in nearby Denholme Road at 5.10pm.
The man, a 29-year-old from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving.
He has been released under investigation and officers are appealing for the public's help to build their case.
PC Scott Young said: "We would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw the pursuit involving a Ford Focus or anything suspicious in this area around this time."
