CCTV images of a man police think may have seen a teenager stabbed at Mannington Recreation Ground.
The incident happened at around 9.35pm on August 6 and the potential witness went into Sainsbury’s filling station at Bridgemead a few minutes before.
The victim, a 19-year-old Swindon man, was taken to Southmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is now recovering well at home.
Det Cons Alan Mills said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries to try and identify this man who we believe is a witness to the incident, but have so far not been able to ID him.
“We have made significant progress in this case, however, we are really keen to speak to this man who could have some really vital information which could further help us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information should call Swindon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
