MONTHS of hard work has been put into making sure the Swindon Half Marathon goes without a hitch.

But did you know...?

• 24,000 water bottles have been ordered for thirsty runners throughout the route

• 10,000 gel wrappers will be on hand for participants to give them that extra energy boost

• 160kg of jelly babies can be grabbed as runners make their way around the route and at the finishing line

• Of the near 2,700 runners, 58.90 per cent are men and 41.10 per cent are women

• The average age of participants is 38

• The number of runners registered as living in Swindon is 1,709

• The youngest runner taking part is 16 while the oldest is 80

• As well as Swindon, runners have come from Lithuania, USA, Poland and Germany to take part

• Four aid stations will be held around the course and manned by staff at Dorcan Church, etter Leisure and the Wichelstowe Development group to help runners complete the distance
