A MAN has been charged in connection with a stabbing outside Tesco in Ocotal Way earlier this month.

Carl Thomas, 36, of Beech Avenue, was arrested on Friday evening.

He was interviewed by detectives and subsequently charged with wounding with intent (GBH) and possession of an offensive weapon.

Thomas was remanded in custody and was brought be magistrates in Swindon this morning.

His case was sent straight to Swindon Crown Court where he will appear on October 13.

He was remanded in custody until then.

The incident outside Tesco left a 44-year-old local man with serious injuries to his chest and arm.

Last week, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident.

She is currently on bail pending further enquiries.
