A man who was accused of threatening housemates with a knife has had the charge against him dropped.
But Ahmed Warfa has been kept in custody while the Home Office, who had housed him at the address in Liden, decide whether to deport him.
And the 41-year-old has also been barred from contacting the man who is said to have threatened with a knife while cooking in the kitchen.
Warfa, of Barrington Close, pleaded not guilty to a charge of affray on Saturday April 8 when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court in May.
But when none of the witnesses attended for a trail prosecutors offered no evidence a formal not guilty was entered.
Judge Tim Mousley QC imposed a restraining order and told him he would remain in custody until the Border Agency decided his fate.
