A MAN who stole meat and cheese then threatened a shop assistant with a razor, say police.
The incident took place at the Co-op on Cricklade Road on August 3. At around 5.30pm, a man entered the store, near the junction with Ferndale Road and Chapel Street, and took meat and cheese before attempting to leave without paying.
He then threatened a member of staff who approached him with a razor he pulled from his pocket.
The man is described as being in his 40s, with a gaunt face, unhealthy complexion and a dark goatee beard.
He was around 5ft 5ins to 5ft 8in tall, and was wearing a black beanie hat, grey hooded jacket with a dark chequered shirt underneath, dark jeans and white trainers.
In another incident - which police believe to be unrelated - a man entered the same shop on August 2, and stole eight blocks of cheese before punching a shop assistant who confronted him.
Anyone with information is urged to call PC Nick Finning on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
