A TIP off from a member of the public led to the discovery of a large amount of fishing gear at a house in Swindon.
Police searched the property in Wanborough on Tuesday and arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.
In a statement they said they had been alerted by a call from a member of the public.
PC Dale Townsend said: "We'd like to hear from anyone who may have had fishing gear recently stolen - especially if you live in the South Cerney and wider Gloucestershire area."
The man was released while officers carry out their investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Townsend on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
