THE A419 has been reopened Blunsdon and Cricklade after a suspected three-vehicle pile up.
Officers from Tri Force closed the road earlier this evening following a collision that left a seven-year-old child needing emergency treatment at Bristol's Southmead Hospital.
Police were called to the accident at 7.20pm, after it is believed a car crashed into a recovery vehicle and another car.
A child, 7, with what police described as a "serious head injury" was rushed to Southmead Hospital by paramedics. Two adults were taken to Great Western Hospital.
Police were forced to close the A419 between the junctions of the A4311 near Blunsdon and the B4040 near Cricklade.
Highways England put a long diversion in place, that took motorists through Bremhill Bridge.
The road was reopened by police at 10.35pm.
Wiltshire Police have asked for anyone with information about the crash to contact them on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
