FAMILIES living in SN1 and SN3 areas of Swindon will be waking up to no water this morning.

A burst water main in Queen's Drive has seen the supply stop to dozens of houses, while many others are experiencing low pressure.

Residents in Albany Close, Bilborough Drive, Welbeck Close, Rutland Road, Woodhouse Road, Concord Walk, New College Walk and Chalvedon Green were the worst affected.

Thames Water say: "If you live in SN1 or SN3, you may have had no water or low pressure this morning due to the burst main on Queens Drive SN3. Our engineers are carrying out the necessary repairs and your water supply should now have returned.

"It's possible you may experience slightly lower pressure than normal whilst we carry out our repair, however if you are still experiencing any issues with your water supply you can contact us on Twitter or Facebook so we can help or call 0800 316 9800."

  • As of 10.15am, Thames Water added that most of their repair work is almost complete and water supply should now be restored.

"We've nearly finished all our work down Queens Drive SN3 and your supply should start to return to normal - we recommend running your cold kitchen tap for a couple of minutes. Thank you for your patience."
