A NEW festival is coming to Lydiard Park next year to celebrate live music and the Armed Forces.
The MFor Festival on July 28 will feature big-name headliners along with military vehicles and displays.
A spokesman for the festival said: "The reason for us putting on this event is our frustration with the lack of facilities here to bring big artists to Swindon, when the town has grown so much that big events like this should be taking place.
"The aim of this event is to hold a fun day and concert that everybody enjoys and will be happy to return to the year after and for many years to come.
"We hope that people will be educated and mindful of our armed services and appreciate the job they do, and be proud of the brave men, women and animals that have served and continue to serve our country.
"We also hope that our community enjoys seeing artists which they would normally have to travel considerable distance to watch."
The line-up of acts is still being finalised.
