SWINDON Freemasons have handed over a cheque for £1,000 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Last month, members of Old Town’s Gooch Lodge travelled to the flying ambulance’s Devizes operations centre to present the cheque.
Paul Moffat, the charity steward for Gooch Lodge, said: “As a Lodge we are keen supporters of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and often see it flying in the skies above the town.
“We love the fact we are helping to keep it flying.”
The money adds to the £11,000 that Freemasons in the area raised for Wiltshire Air Ambulance last year.
The charity, whose helicopter medical team can reach all corners of the county in just 11 minutes, is currently fundraising for a new airbase.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance hope to raise a final £1.25million to allow them to finish the building and equip it with brand new kit.
