A POPULAR Christmas extravaganza is to return to Stratton this year.

With the festive season fast approaching, families are invited to take part in an afternoon and evening of singing, crafting and much more.

There will be a “magical grotto experience”, complete with reindeer, Father Christmas and presents for all the well-behaved children.

Joe Tray, chairman of Stratton St Margaret Parish Council, said: “Stratton’s Christmas events have always raised funds for the parish council’s chosen Charity and this year the council is very proud to be supporting the Alzheimer’s Society.

“After all the singing and festivities, the evening will come to a climax with a spectacular light switch-on by some very special guests, though people will have to come along to find out who they are.”

Organised by the Stratton St Margaret Parish Council, the event will take place at Grange Leisure on Friday, December 1, from 1pm until 7pm.

There will be performances from local school children as well as popular choir The Big Sing Thing.

For a small donation visitors can get crafty, make some presents or even their very own reindeer food for putting out on Christmas Eve.

There will also be an outdoor fun fair courtesy of George Scarrott & Sons.
