CRAFT-lovers have been urged to make decorations to help power a radio star in a marathon charity cycle.

BBC Wiltshire’s Breakfast show presenter Ben Prater will spend five days pedalling 100 miles across the county in aid of Children in Need.

Ben wants craft-loving listeners to send in decorations that he can drape over his “pedi-bus” ahead of his marathon trip. Listeners can also register to join Ben on the eight-saddle pedi-bus

The presenter said: “I'm no cyclist. In fact, I haven’t owned a bike since 2013. That said, I did manage to keep my padded cycling shorts so I'll certainly be pulling those out of the drawer when it's time to Pedal for Pudsey.

“I’m keen to see lots of people get involved and make it a real community effort. It’s for a great cause, so hop on the bus or visit us along the route and bring cake to keep us going.”

Ben sets off from BBC Wiltshire’s Prospect Place studio on Monday, November 13. Listeners have until Sunday, November 12, to send in their decorations.

Children in Need currently supports 20 projects across Wiltshire, handing out funding of £783,000.
