A SUSPECTED knifeman accused of stabbing a man in the neck at a bus station will stand trial in December.
Christopher White, 30, was arrested after the alleged attack which saw a 45-year-old man rushed to Great Western Hospital.
It is claimed a fight broke out between the two men at New Bridge Square, by the bus station, on Wednesday then White allegedly stabbed the man with a Stanley knife.
White, of Queen's Avenue, Highworth, is charged with wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Friday where he sat quietly during the hearing.
Magistrate Debbie Slater told him: “Because one of the charges is so serious that it cannot be heard in this court we are going to send you for trial at the crown court.
“You haven’t applied for bail and the prosecution is asking us to remand you in custody because of fear of you committing further offences.”
White was remanded in custody ahead of his plea and trial preparation hearing at Swindon Crown Court on December 1.
