FIREFIGHTERS got into the festive spirit on Saturday as they welcomed families to a special open day at the Westlea station.
Modern and vintage fire engines were on display and a plethora of seasonal refreshments up for grabs, and Santa Clause himself also made an appearance.
As well as bringing a spot of festive cheer to the Westlea, the event was held to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Watch manager Tim Elliott was thrilled to see so many people in attendance.
He said: “The idea behind this open day was to give people the opportunity to come and see what we do, enjoy a few warm refreshments and meet Santa.
“It has gone really well so far – it’s genuinely brilliant to see so many people here on such a cold day.
“We will take this opportunity to teach people about fire and road safety, and to answer any questions they might have.”
Firefighters were also on hand to give a few demonstrations, including a short presentation to show people what happens when you pour water on a cooker fire.
There were stalls from Wiltshire Search and Rescue and the British Red Cross emergency response volunteers.
The event was the brainchild of firefighter Robbie Macpherson, who highlighted just how important the Fire Fighters Charity is, describing it as “a really important cause for us”.
Other such open days will be taking place at other fire stations around Swindon during December.
