A MAN suffered a fractured jaw as a result of an attack in Pinehurst.
At around 3pm on Saturday, a 28-year-old man was walking through Limes Avenue when he was approached from behind and hit on the head with a metal object. He suffered a fractured jaw and required hospital treatment.
A teenage boy was been arrested on suspicion of GBH but released while police enquiries continue.
DS Adrian Bray, of Swindon CID, said: “This was a really nasty and unprovoked attack which happened in broad daylight in a busy neighbourhood, so we believe there must be witnesses to the incident who haven’t yet spoken to police. If you witnessed the incident, or if you believe you saw anyone involved in the incident prior to or after it taking place, please get in touch. We believe there were a group of around 10 youths in the area at the time. Our enquiries are continuing at this time and We will be analysing any CCTV footage available to us in the area as part of our investigation.”
Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
