A NEW petrol station with a Subway and Budgens supermarket could be coming to Swindon.

Plans have been submitted for land on Catsbrain Farm to be used as a site for the new facilities, which would also include a car wash.

Kingsdown Road and Highworth Road run along the boundaries of the site and would act as entry points to the petrol station.

The original application, submitted back in 2014, received outline planning permission.

However, there have been a few matters which the developers have had to sort out over the past few years before further progress can be made.

The newest planning application (reference S/RES/18/0054) is a revised version of a previous application which aimed to resolve outstanding matters involving the orientation of the petrol station.

The original application (reference S/OUT/14/1912) also included an outline of plans for a family restaurant/pub, drive-through coffee shop, and two takeaway outlets to be built alongside the petrol station.

A reserved matters application for the full site tweaked the layout of the internal highway infrastructure which would connect all the businesses and their car parks together with the petrol station and links to the main roads.

These changes were approved by Swindon Borough Council in 2016.

Now it appears that the petrol station is the only area which requires further attention before the full plans can be submitted.

Local authorities are being consulted to see if they approve the newest revisions to the plans.
