HUNDREDS of mourners gathered in the sunshine at Kingsdown Crematorium on Thursday to bid a fond farewell to Tina Greening.

The chapel was filled with cheers and laughter as the 49-year-old's friends and family recalled happy memories and funny anecdotes about Tina.

It's clear from the turnout to the funeral that she touched the lives of many people in Highworth and will be greatly missed.

Flowers spelling out Mum, Nanny, and Babe adorned the coffin inside the silver hearse that brought Tina to her final resting place.

Though the mood was sombre, the service emphasised celebrating her life and the love people had for her.

Guests were encouraged to silently reminisce about the fun times they'd enjoyed with Tina as one of her favourite songs, Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor, played.

For 17 years, Tina worked at Andrews Quality Meats, where she was lovingly known as the 'Baguette Bird'.

Flowers, photos and other tributes were left outside the butcher's, which was closed for the day.

Co-directors Andy Sears and Andy Ayris remembered their colleague while dressed in full costume as Batman and Robin.

Andy said: ""It's been a privilege to work with Tina, she was loved and admired by us and the customers.

"She was fun, passionate and enthusiastic, and she was always game for a laugh.

"She always kept us in line and made sure things were in order.

"She had an enormous personality, she loved socialising with friends and family, enjoying life and having fun."

The funeral service was lead by minister Rob Rowe.

He said: "She was bubbly, outgoing, vivacious and simply like no other.

"Tina was one of five siblings born to Mick and Barbara, who remember her as being a loving daughter and sister.

"She was a very popular youngster who enjoyed entering the Guides and Brownies.

"She was an engaging and positive influence to her children Martin and Toni.

"Tina also enjoyed holidays with her group of friends.

"Only last year, after completing cancer treatment, she surprised her friends in Tenerife for the last few days of their break.

"We should keep happy memories like this alive."

The service concluded with the Sound of Silence cover by Disturbed, then mourners moved to a wake at the Saracen's Head, follwoed by a party at the Rose and Crown pub.

Tina passed away earlier this month after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her partner, four siblings, two children and two grand-children.
