Drink driver Deeba Mitchell was banned from the roads for 14 months after she pleaded guilty to being over the alcohol limit when she was stopped in Mead Way on January 31.

Mitchell, 46, had a level of 59 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system when the limit is 35. Swindon magistrates fined her £196 with an added £85 court costs and £30 contribution towards victim services.

Swindon magistrates handed Kapil Gurung a 12-month conditional discharge when he appeared in the dock and admitted a charge of causing criminal damage to a woman’s furniture on February 3.

Gurung, 30, of Garson Road, Abbeymeads, was also told to pay a total of £105 towards victim services and court costs.

A restraining order was imposed on Peter Pontin after he appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court and admitted assaulting a woman on February 8.

Pontin, 25, of Baydon Close, was given a 12-month conditional discharge as well as the restraining order, which lasts until February 27 next year. He was also told to pay £20 for victim services and £40 prosecution costs.

Driving on the M4 while she was over the alcohol limit cost Rachel Walker a 15-month disqualification and a £120 fine.

Swindon magistrates heard Walker, 30, of Manor Park, Froxfield admitted giving a reading of 52 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath on February 1. They instructed her to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

A six-month conditional discharge was given to Lucy Saunders after she pleaded guilty to assaulting another woman.

Saunders, 22, of Beaufort Road, Wroughton, was also instructed to pay a contribution of £20 towards the cost of victim services.

Kyle Telling has been instructed to do 80 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and causing her actual bodily harm on February 4.

Telling, 28, of Reids Piece, Purton, was also ordered by Swindon magistrates to pay his victim £100 compensation as well as £85 to help fund victim services and another £85 in prosecution costs.
