A man who used Skype to distribute images and movies of child rape on the internet has walked free from court.

Louie Paradise used Skype to pass on the vile pictures and films to other like minded people he had met online after hunting for more material on 'paedophile websites'.

But after hearing the 21-year-old was full of remorse for what he had done and was being supported by his family as he sought help, a judge suspended the sentence.

Tim Hills, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court how the authorities became aware of his computer being used to share the obscene material.

On the morning of Wednesday April 12 last year police went to his home and after being let in by his dad they seized an Apple hard drive and computer.

When it was examined it was found to have 165 pictures and movies of child abuse including 54 at the worst level, 46 of which were films.

"As a result of that the websites on which these images were downloaded were also investigated," Mr Hills said.

"They were consistent with somebody accessing what might be called paedophile websites."

He said when the Skype chats were examined it was found that he had sent out images and films to others on 24 occasions.

When the defendant was arrested and questioned he accepted what he had been doing with the images of children of both genders and was very sorry for what he had done.

Paradise, of Queintin Road, Old Town, pleaded guilty to three counts each of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Nick Wragg, defending, said his client had been terribly distressed and deeply ashamed by what he has done.

He said that since he was young his family had been concerned he hadn't developed through adolescence like other children.

"He locked himself away, locking himself away and developing relationships online is no doubt unhealthy," he said.

Since his arrest he said that he had received counselling from a psycho sexual therapist and had completed the Stop It Now modules.

Passing sentence Judge Jason Taylor QC said "The activity from your Skype account, with an extremely unhelpful but insightful name, showed there were 21 images you had distributed to people of similar mindset. It is appalling. In interview and since you have done everything right.

He imposed a two year jail term suspended for 24 months with a community order, 300 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation days, and a sex offenders programme. He must also register as a sex offender for 10 years.
