COURT: Magistrates ordered a man to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.

Sampath Dasari, aged 28, of Commercial Road, was made the subject of a 12-month community order in the wake of the incident on March 4. The Swindon bench also instructed him to pay £85 to help fund victim services and £85 towards prosecution costs.

COURT: A woman caught drink driving on Faringdon Road was more than twice the legal alcohol limit, Swindon magistrates heard.

Hannah Davis, 35, of Churchill Close Calne, had 89 microgrammes of alcohol her 100ml of breath in her system when she was tested on March 11.

The limit is 35. She pleaded guilty to drink driving and was banned from getting behind the wheel for 20 months.

The magistrates fined her £461 with another £131 victim surcharge and court costs.

COURT: Francis Luswata was told to do 80 hours of unpaid work for assaulting a woman and causing her actual bodily harm.

The defendant, 40, of Blain Place, Royal Wootton Bassett, was given a year-long community order by Swindon magistrates after he admitted the offence.

He was also told to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 towards prosecution costs.

COURT: Swindon magistrates instructed Lee Tierney of Cheney Manor Road to do 80 hours’ unpaid work when he admitted assaulting a child.

Tierney, was made the subject of a 12-monthy community order and told he must pay a total of £170 victim surcharge and court costs.
