A gang of four thieves have stolen a Mercedes car after breaking into a house in the Malborough area.

The suspects entered the home and left with the owner’s car keys before making a getaway in two vehicles, including the stolen car.

One member of the criminal gang was wearing a smart white or blue shirt and dark trousers. The man in his 20s had fair hair, was approximately six foot tall and of medium build.

Detective Constable Cerys Powell said: “At approximately 10.30am, two vehicles were seen to pull up in Cherry Orchard. One was a silver Mercedes ML 350 and one was a dark coloured vehicle. Two men got out of each of the vehicles and were seen spraying the Mercedes with what is believed to have been cleaning fluid before driving off - it is not known in which direction.

“We are conducting enquiries in the area and are keen to speak to any further witnesses who may have seen the Mercedes pull up in Cherry Orchard, as well as anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in Burbage on the morning of 16 May.

“We understand there were four men involved – one was wearing a smart white or blue shirt and dark trousers. He had fair hair and was approximately 6 ft tall and of medium build. It’s believed he was aged in his late 20s.”
