CONTRACTS for half of retail space at the new "Snoasis" development have been exchanged.
Confirmed tenants for the North Star Village site include ten pin bowling company Hollywood Bowl, outdoors shop Ellis Brigham, a 180,000 sq ft Snowcentre and a 13-screen Empire cinema, which will also boast Europe's largest IMAX screen. Their backing is subject to the site winning planning approval.
John Watkins, director at SevenCapital, which is pushing the scheme, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to confirm such high-profile tenants for the North Star Village whilst we’re still in approval stages. This pays testament to the appetite for this fantastic scheme and our vision for it – to create a first-class regional leisure destination that will cement Swindon firmly on the map.”
Detailed planning permission for the £270million scheme was lodged in February. The site already has outline permission. Central Swindon North Parish Council and Swindon College have raised concerns around traffic management at the site.
