THE SECOND crash in the same spot in two days has prompted road safety advice from police.

A red Citroen Saxo hit the silver VW Sharan minicab along Dorcan Way shortly after 9.30am on Wednesday morning.

The female Saxo driver and the man behind the wheel of minicab were both taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A crew from Westlea fire station was called to the scene. Watch manager Terry Crawford said his crews had provided first aid to the drivers, isolated the cars’ batteries and made the scene safe.

The crash is the second to happen in as many days along Dorcan Way, near the turning with Eldene Drive. One Liden resident at the scene, 28, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s the same spot as yesterday. I’m stunned.”

Wiltshire Police said officers were still investigating the causes of both crashes.

However, they issued safety advice for drivers. Especially relevant to this week’s warm weather, a spokeswoman said: “If you are experiencing glare from the sun reduce your speed, reduce the effect of glare by keeping both the inside and outside of your windscreen clean and grease free. If you wear sunglasses (with prescription lenses if necessary) take them off whenever the sun goes in. They should not be worn in duller weather or at night as they seriously reduce the ability to see.”
