A SWINDON data management firm has seen a rapid rise in demand for its services after the introduction of GDPR.
Tailored Data Solutions, a leading data management and consultancy firm, based in Kembrey Park, has confirmed an upsurge of interest for its services, reporting a growth of 200 per cent last month, compared with the same month last year.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on May 25 and aimed to protect the use of personal data held by companies and organisations.
In a blog post on its website the company said organisations were trying to come into line with the new regulations and many were still in denial about their obligations, risking severe penalties.
Mike Lenard, owner Tailored Data Solutions, said: “For businesses which haven’t started their GDPR compliance journey, we need to speak to them. It only recently emerged that retail giant Dixons Carphone had 1.2 million personal data records hacked. GDPR involves ongoing compliance and isn’t a ‘one-time thing’ which is going to go away.
“We urge all organisations who haven’t considered GDPR up until this point to look seriously at how their business practices will be affected.”
