COURT: A woman found with more than 400 grams of cannabis was made the subject of a 12-month community order and fined £78 when she appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court.

Annabel Godwin, 23, of Cricklade Road, Highworth, pleaded guilty to possession of the class C drug and was ordered to undergo rehabilitation activity for up to 10 days. She was also told she must pay £85 each towards victim services and prosecution costs.

COURT: A man of 24 who drove dangerously on Victoria Road and failed to stop after a crash has been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year and told to do 80 hours of unpaid work.

Luke McInerney, of Chestnut Avenue pleaded guilty to driving the Volkswagen Bora dangerously on December 17, failing to stop when damage was caused to a Nissan Micra as a result and failing to report the incident.

Swindon magistrates ordered him to pay £85 towards victim services and told him he had to complete the work within the next 12 months.

COURT: Two women who stole sweets, childrens’ toys and clothes with a total value of more than £700 on the same day have been given 18-month conditional discharges by Swindon magistrates.

Tara Miles, 32, of Akers Way, Moredon and Cayden-Jade Zanovello, 36, also known as Samantha Carnall, who lives in the same road, each pleaded guilty to eight charges of theft from shops including The Works, Marks and Spencer, Build-a-Bear, Gap and Nike Factory Store on May 3.

Both were told to pay £20 towards victim services and prosecution costs of £85.
