TRIBUTES have been pouring in from all over Swindon for a 19-year-old who died while on holiday in Crete.

Friends and supporters have raised almost £7,000 in the space of a day to give Kieran Roche the funeral they say he deserves.

The young man, who worked for Calvin Klein at the Outlet Village, was on a holiday with friends when he was involved in a critical quad biking accident in Malia this week.

His parents have now flown out to the Greek island to bring his body back to the UK.

A Go Fund Me appeal started by Liam Mawson has been deluged with donations and heartfelt messages.

“This is for Kieran. He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts,” said Liam on the site.

So far there have been nearly 300 donations, from £10 to £500.

Tributes left on the page described him as a bubbly, loved, kind and charismatic lad.

Dale Telling said: “RIP mate you have been taken far too soon and too young. You had so much more to give. You will be sadly missed by so many people. God bless you buddy.”

Will Hooton said: “Gutted, all my love kidder.”

Chloe Dunne wrote: “Sending my love to all of Kieran’s friends and family. I never met him but know several people who did, and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things. Hope you can give him the send-off he deserves.”

There has also been an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes on social media with people sharing their memories of Kieran.

One post focused on how he was always kind and loved by so many: “You gave so much so selflessly and there’s not enough words to describe how loved you are and how great a person you are. Everyone who knew you is so proud of you.”

Marie O’Shaughnessy wrote on Facebook: “Difficult to find words but our deepest condolences to his family and friends – I know how much you loved him, and your heart is breaking like so many others - taken too soon.”

Kieran’s family are being assisted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. An FCO spokesperson said: “Foreign Office staff are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Malia and are in contact with the Greek Police.”
