COURT: A man who admitted being four times the drink-drive limit was given a suspended prison sentence.

John Philpott, 43, of Ernest Road, Portsmouth, was stopped on Great Western Way on July 22. Tests revealed he had 141 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg. He admitted drink-driving and driving without due care and attention. Magistrates judged the offence to be so serious they gave him a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months. He was banned for three years.

COURT: A Swindon man who denies assaulting two people will stand trial in October.

Amir Fereidouni, 39, of Culver House Road, is charged with two counts of assault by beating. Appearing before magistrates, Fereidouni pleaded not guilty. He was bailed for the trial at Swindon Magistrates Court on October 25.

Fereidouni was fined £100 after admitting breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Notice and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

COURT: An alleged domestic abuser will be tried in October after denying assault charges.

Lawrence Vincent Frost, 37, of Goddard Avenue, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared before magistrates.

He was bailed for the trial on October 11.

COURT: David Bogulsaw Jablonski, 39, of Brunel Crescent, was banned from driving for a year and fined £80 after admitting to drink driving.

He was told to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

COURT: A Boxing Day rampage has landed a Penhill man a £50 fine.

Liam James Tyson Wells, 26, of Durnford Road, admitted causing criminal damage when he appeared before Swindon magistrates. He damaged plants, pots and Christmas lights on Boxing Day last year.

Wells must pay £50 compensation. No order was made for costs.
