VOLVO's futuristic XC60 concept, a crossover vehicle combining the all-wheel drive versatility of the Swedish firm's current XC range with the sporty looks of a sleek coupe, makes its first UK public appearance at the MPH Shows in London and Birmingham in November.

First unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January this year, visitors to MPH will be in the enviable position of being able to see the concept before a proper production version is expected to hit the showrooms by early 2009.

The XC60 concept required teamwork at a record speed of eight months and involved 70 members of specialist staff from departments as diverse as engineering and interior trim.

Show-goers will also have the opportunity to view the all-new Volvo V70 and XC70 premium estates plus the C30 SportsCoupe and the smart Volvo S40 saloon in new R-Design Sport specification.
