TWO shop windows were smashed by yobs in a late-night attack.

Half the display windows at Stanwells in Eastcott Road, Old Town, were left shattered at 1.30am on Thursday morning.

The traders must now pay £200 for the windows to be boarded up and a further £100 to purchase second-hand replacements.

Greg House jointly owns the business, which specialises in workshop equipment, with his dad John.

They were left deeply annoyed by what had happened.

"We are just a small business trying to survive," said 29-year-old Greg of Pembroke Street.

"What is the point in this?

"Nothing was nicked and these idiots have done it for the sake of it.

"I think we're quite vulnerable in the position we're in on the corner.

"Although you see other shop windows boarded up in Old Town, so it's not just us."

Vandals last targeted the shop six months ago.
