THE bounciest, most beautiful babies in Swindon have been crowned.

The children, who range from seven months to two and a half years, were all winners and runner ups in the Adver's 2007 Baby of the Year competition.

Proud parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents stood smiling as the little ones were presented with their trophies and canvas portraits.

The competition, which is now in its 10th year is voted for by Advertiser readers.

This year's youngest winner, and first time entrant, was 10-month-old Bran-don Dyton, who won the 0-9 month category.

Mum Kate Bowles said she was really proud of him.

"I was well chuffed when I found out he'd won," said the 24-year-old, of Haydon End.

"We entered him because we knew he would win. You've got to have some good-looking boys in the competition, the girls can't keep winning it.

"He's always happy, he's a little star.

"His dad Scott will be really proud of his handsome little man."

The next age category, 10-18 months, was won by Lucy Cole, of Liden.

"She won the 0-9 month-old category last year so we thought we'd enter her again this time," said mum Louise Cole, 34.

"It was great when we found out she'd won again.

"Hopefully next year we can make it three in a row."

And Lucy isn't the only baby making family and friends say "ahhh".

Her cousin, seven-month-old Jessica Whyte, was a runner up in the younger age group.

"We're keeping it in the family," said her mum, Clare Whyte, of Covingham.

This year's overall winner, and also the champion in the 19-36 month age category, was Bethany Humphrey.

And the two-and-a-half year old is no stranger to the pages of the Advertiser, as this is the third year she has been a category winner.

Dad Paul, 36, said they were over the moon that she had won again.

"We are all really proud of her," said Paul, of Abbey Meads.

"We decided to enter again this year just to see if we could go for the hat-trick.

"She loves having her picture taken, she is a little star.

"We're moving house in a few weeks so the portrait will have pride of place in the new house."

Runner-up in this category was Hollie Donovan and runner-up in the 10-19 months section was Alicia Davis.
