COMMONWEAL School's youngsters let their hair down with two evenings of music and dance.

There were full houses on both nights for the school's Evening of Entertainment which is an annual affair to showcase the youngsters' talent.

Not only were Commonweal School children involved, but pupils from feeder schools at King William Street Primary and Robert Le Kyng took part.

Josie Williams, Commonweal's Community Arts Development Officer, said: "We do outreach in all our schools, so the dance by King William called Alien Invasion came out of outreach work delivered by our dance specialist Louise Blake who visits the school once a week.

"Robert Le Kyng also receive outreach from our head of music Ali Sutcliffe who taught some of the children a song written by our technician Nick Weaver entitled School Rocks!

"The little ones performed with our school choir. We do outreach to help the transition from primary into secondary school."

Commonweal's youngsters put on a spectacular 90-minute programme of dance, as well as jazz, classical and modern pop music.
