The graves of several of Richard Jefferies' family members have been lovingly restored.
Conservator Toby Robson spent a wet Sunday day attending to several gravestones at Christ Church on Cricklade Street that had become weathered, worn and barely legible and painstakingly brought them back to life.
The famous Swindon nature writer died in 1887 at the age of 38, but his body of work has endured and he is now celebrated by the Richard Jefferies Museum at Coate Water.
The museum itself posted onto social media to welcome the restoration and praise Robson for his work.
It said: "Photos of Jefferies family gravestones at Christ Church after the attention of conservator Toby Robson (earlier pics also included) - all cleaned up in the pouring rain on a Sunday, above and beyond the call of duty. Well done Toby!"
